Abilities of the Swords and their guardian gifts

Wrath:
Sword ability: Increases or instills anger or aggression and the need to act on that anger or aggression.
Guardian gift: Reveals the strengths and weaknesses of living and non-living things.
Lust:
Sword ability: Increases or instills thoughts of sex, desire, and the need to act on those thoughts.
Guardian gift: Reveals illnesses of people, animals, plants, and other living things.
Envy:
Sword ability: Increases or instills envy of other's possessions or positions and the need to possess those things.
Guardian gift: Reveals a person's history and their heritage, both hidden and common.
Sloth:
Sword ability: Decreases energy and the need to be active of living beings.
Guardian gift: Reveals the history of a given area, both hidden and common, ancient or modern.
Vanity:
Sword ability: Increases or instills the sense of self-importance, self-worth, talents, or past accomplishments and the need to prove those inflated views.
Guardian gift: Reveals the true self of people and sentient living things, uncovering lies, hidden personalities or hidden emotions.
Greed:
Sword ability: Increases or instills the need for things of worth or value and the need to get those things by any means necessary.
Guardian gift: Reveals value of any object and whether it is truly what it claims to be.
Gluttony:
Sword ability: Increases or instills the need for anything, to gain as much stuff as possible, no matter it's worth.
Guardian gift: Reveals any poison within any living being or object and the knowledge of how to cure or remove that poison.

Descriptions of the Swords

Wrath: The metal has a red cast to it. The pommel and guard are a mass of points and barbs. The handle is wrapped red leather, but it seems impossible to grasp this double-edged sword without cutting yourself on some point of either guard or pommel. The blade is also a mass of sharp edges and points. From a distance, it almost appears to be flame captured in metal.

Blade width at widest point: 3 1/2 inches
Lust: This single-edged sword is a continuous curve, no points or corners. The blade flows into the guard-less handle, wrapped in pale tan leather, which continues to flow and curve back into the blade creating one smooth line that curves back onto itself. Appearing to be white gold, the sword looks almost soft and completely ornamental, totally useless in battle.

Envy: Green dominates this single-edged sword. A green stone composes the whole of the pommel. It has an eye-like appearance. The guard is a simple narrow bar, but at each end is another eye-like green stone. Where the blade, guard, and handle meet, another large eye-like green stone sits in the intersection of those parts. The handle is wrapped criss-cross fashion in nearly black leather. The blade has a slight curve at the point, but is otherwise smooth and straight.

Sloth: This double-edged sword is huge and appears incomplete. It's dull gray surface reflects no light at all. The guard is an unworked piece of steel that shows only minimal work to fasten it to the blade. The handle is wrapped in untanned leather that still has some hair left on it. The blade is not tapered and simply comes to a point at the end. It seems dull as if it has never been sharpened. The pommel is a lump of metal as if the end was simply heated and rolled upon itself.

Vanity: While not as curved as Lust, this single-edged sword has a slow curve starting at the tip and ending at the guard. The blade is highly polished and mirror-like. The guard creates a crescent shape bending over the blade. Set in the curve where blade and guard meet, twin disks sit, looking like mirrored eyes. In the guard, small mirrored disks follow the curve of the guard. The sword appears to be made of silver. The handle is wrapped in white leather. On both sides of the flat pommel are mirrored disks just as large at the two nestled between blade and hilt.

Greed: This double-edged sword appears to be made entirely of yellow gold. Jewels and gems cover guard, handle, and pommel. The blade is straight. Except for the gems and gold, it is a very utilitarian sword. The guard curves slightly towards the blade. The handle is wrapped with yellow leather open criss-cross style to reveal the gems set in the handle. A large diamond composes the entire pommel. This is the only sword with a matching sheath, also encrusted in gems, appears to be made of yellow gold, and seems totally ornamental in nature.

Gluttony: This double-edged sword is wider near the tip than near the guard, almost spade-shaped. It appears heavy and difficult to wield. The blade appears to be made of steel while the guard, handle, and pommel appear gold or gold-plated. The handle is wrapped in a soft suede leather in a light tan color. Whirls in the blade show that it was a poured sword, not a forged one.
